Default New here - thinking of buying an B5 S4

Hello guys. I'm new here and I'm thinking about buying a 2001 s4.

Anyone know if a s4 with 120k on it seems like a waste of time and money...

Everything else on the car is beautiful and it has one owner and he's a 50 year old who chipped and put an exhaust on it. Also replaced the rubber things that connects the hoses and intake.

I used to work for the audi dealership that has this car right now and they're giving me a pretty good deal. I plan on DD-ing it and I'd really hope to not have the engine die on me.

THANK YOU!

Forget the price on the website. Since I worked there, I'd be getting it for 10,500

if it has the original turbos, they may being failing soon. What do the maintenance records look like? timing belt etc?

I'm not sure. The turbos are probably original..

I will ask about the turbos and get a compression test and ask about the timing belt too.

Anything else I should ask about?

I am not an s4 expert, or car expert, but if you buy an s4 you should be prepared to spend $$$ to maintain it like the sports car that it is ... for instance the turbo replacement, turbos are cheap but if you have to pay for labor than your talking a couple grand. the a4 b5 forum has a newbie section which lists potential problems and things to look for when buying, maybe there is something similar for s4's, or maybe someone who knows a lot about s4's would be willing to help you. I was going to buy an s4 from my uncle for pretty cheap but when I did some research I decided to go 1.8t - thats my 1.5 cents.
