New here.. is this price fair ?
Hello, i am new to this forum. I do not own an a4...yet. I am looking at one locally and was wondering if it was a fair price...seems that way to me.
1998 AUDI A4 2.8l quattro s-line
He claims it was very well taken care of and the lowest he could do is $3300. Let me know! Hope to be in here more often!

Car looks pretty decent, from the pictures. ask about the timing belt. I know the ad says all maintenance and service done but I see no specific mention of the timing belt having been done. that is about $1000+/- a couple hundred.
other than that, read up on the 2.8 great motor as far as reliability goes (audiwise anyway). Absolutely no way to improve the performance without breaking the bank.
good luck

Agreed with the above. If you're mechanically-inclined, you can do the timing yourself and save most of that money, but use it as sales leverage anyhow. The 30v engine is very reliable and many of us (including me) are beyond 200k miles with no issues. A chip and a catback will give you a bump in midrange torque but no earth-shattering gains will be made without several grand invested in parts. But you can make the car handle, stop, and look great fairly easily while enjoying the reliability of a very solid, well-engineered car.
