Default New Here!

I am not new to the forum world, I am on a few other forums for Jeeps. I just traded my 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a 98 Audi A4 1.8t 5-Speed Black. The person before me has done some mods to it including; VIS carbon fiber hood and deck lid, Carbonio intake, lowering springs, wheels, tires etc. Looks good. I have a few questions on the boost situation he has. Right now it is running about 15psi of boost according to the gauge. I am not sure what he has done to get the higher boost and if it does or does not have a tune. Are there some ways for me to check if its tuned? Also, what has he most likely done to get the extra boost? I want to put in a GIAC tune/chip if is has not yet been done. Thanks for ANY info and tips as im new in the audi world!

Hi and welcome Sounds like a sweet ride - post pics please (we are a bunch of pic ****** here). On a 98 the only two ways to raise boost are a chip or a manual boost controller. Your car probably is already chipped and also has an upgraded diverter valve, so the PO saved you about $500 that way.

Take a walk through the sticky FAQ in the B5 A4 section for a load of info on your car's possibilities and enjoy

Well good, is there a way to see what tune it has? I will try to snap some pics of it today!
