Hello, new guy here,

My KO3 (1.8T AEB) is on the way out, she's starting whine pretty loud. I need some "economical" advice on a replacement. What are the minimal amount of modifications I need to perform in order to run a KO4(besides chip & FPR)? Do I absolutley need to upgrade the clutch and exhaust. The car has 111k on it, and I'm primarily looking for reliability, performance is good, but reliability first. Or would it be worth going with a KO3s and a chip?

 

I don't think you really need all that much for a K04 upgrade, since it's pretty mild. Go to the A4 section, B5 subforum, and read the sticky posts at the top. The Newbie Guide and the "You're Going BT" guide should spell it out pretty well.
