New Guy
Hi Everyone my names Neil.
I am new to the Audi forum but not new to car enthusiasts forums.
Dont worry, my other fascination is not with Type R's or GTE's unless or the normal "hot hatches" unless the engines are implanted into a classic mini! (something that is a regular occurrence now days believe it or not.
So, I am a Classic mini enthusiast and own three Classic minis (a SPI Cooper, a MG engines Mayfair and another 1275 Mayfair. I am the founding member for ELMO (East London Mini Owners) Our members are mainly located anywhere north of the Thames.
Anyway I will stop prattling on about the great Classic minis on an Audi forum and get to the point of my
the reason for me signing up is I require a car to use for work. My company pay a car allowance and a (in my opinion generous) 40p per mile fuel allowance. The company also encourages train usage. Fare depending they are happy to pay first class train tickets for me to visit any of my clients across the country. However after doing this for a year (and rather enjoying it- its the first time in 10years I haven't had a company car automatically supplied by the company) I now have a client database that requires a little more driving. Its fine to shoot up to Manchester for a meeting with a Client then back to the office but its not feasible if I need to do more than three visits at any destination- and I am finding that more and more the case.
So after using the Classic mini for a coupe of work related trips (I feel like a bit of a fool in my suit sitting in the mini to be honest- and I alwasy park it round the corner!) and the Cooper breaking down on me last Friday on the way back (luckily not on the way there) I have decided the purchase of something a little more reliable is in order.
I have been scouting around for a while now and decided that the best choice for comfort, value for money (that certainly deserves bold writing in my opinion) is an Audi A8. I would prefer a special Edition S8 If I find one for the right money that my heart wants, but I could be swayed by the right motor. I have had my heart set on three particular motors so far and always missed out.... so far.
So thats more than a little about me!

Hi everyone.
Really down that I missed out on this motor
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:AAQ:GB:1123
it looks like a corker. its perhaps slightly more than I wanted to spend, but I would have been prepared to spend it for an 2002 S8.
I am keeping my eye out as much as I can but can i please ask that if anyone hears of any great 2000+ S8s going for the sub £5k mark that they let me know?
Thanks, I would really appreciate it
