New to audiforums
Hey all, my name is rick and I have just purchased my first Audi. I'm completely new to the platform of car. I have loads of experience with cars, mainly Mitsubishi. I don't really know what else to explain, but so far my experience with the car isn't that great. I loooove the car (a6 4.2l quattro) but it has issues. Soo, that's where I need help navigating the forum and etc. I look forward to getting to know you guys and girls and definitely look forward to getting this car in top shape. So if anyone has pointers or suggestions please feel free to shout them out, I greatly appreciate it especially since I know nothing about Audi.
So far I've gotten the diagnostics ran on it and have 7+ engine codes. I know what they are and what the correlate to. Just not exactly what to do. Thanks in advance to those willing to help a fellow enthusiast. I have absolutely no intentions on letting this car go. It will be my car for a loooong while, so again Im looking very much forward to this experience

First things first, make sure you do your timing belt if it's due (or overdue). Anything over 75K miles since the last time it's been done and you're starting to push your luck. Also, clear the codes and see which ones come back. That will help prioritize your list of repairs. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks brad! Upon purchase of the car I was told the timing had recently been done. And receipts from a local shop as well as me stopping in and asking them about working on it confirmed this. The shop IMHO isn't that reputable so I don't trust the work. The main engine code that is triggering the rest is the camshaft sensor. The receipts claim it was just the passenger side sensor that was replaced. So I'm going to assume cylinder 7 is on the drivers side, replace that cam sensor, and go from there. I know this isn't the technical area so I will post up in there to hopefully get some more input thanks again!
