Default New to the Audi world

Hey guys, I am about to purchase a 1999 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro. I need help because I don't know anything about Audi. I want to know what can I do to make this car have around 230-240hp....The one I am buying has had all its maintenance done. I am used to performance cars such as rsx s which I had turboed. Please just give me some suggestion on what parts to purchase. Oh also have any of you put stance on your Audi?

Thanks

Wilkommen to the forums

Spend some time in the A4 section and I am sure you will find some answers to your questions. you can probably put down some decent power on your car for about $1K. then if you want to get all non-street legal and broke you can really get ridiculous for about $10K.

not trying to cast aspersions on you here but being used to performance cars and then referencing the rsx really isn't going to help you out too terribly much with your Audi. just sayin'. quite different.

for stance check out the thread "Nick Broderick's timeline" should give you some ideas. most use coilovers but there are a few on air (aledelic)

good luck

Sorry O2A6BEAU I did not mean it in that way. I know Audi performs over Acura. What I was trying to say was I'm coming from a 300hp car, and I was hearing the Audi A4 1.8t only made 150hp. That's pretty slow and I want to atleast get it in the 230-240 range just for fun.

no worries. just trying to make sure you are prepared for what is in store. most people who come from the asian market cars and try to compare the experience to the euro cars find themselves frustrated because they're too different.

The 1.8T running stock is pretty...disappointing. The good news is that it is possible to make decent power without too much trouble and serious power with some minor modifications (that require a lot wrenching). There is a lot of good information here that can help you own your way.
