Default New to Audi, Buying a used A4

Hey All, The names Tyler. (So. California)

I will be purchasing a 1.8t A4 in late December, Early January. I will gladly take anything from 98-01. What do you think is a reasonable price to pay for one with 50-87k miles?

The mods I have planned shall be a Neuspeed or Remus Exhaust System, Carbonio Intake from APR, ASA AR1 Wheels, Toyo Proxes4 Tires, and MAYBE a Rtech Bodykit.

Looking forward to chatting with you guys!
-Tyler

Welcome to the forums.

You should expect to pay $10K-12K for a B5 A4 with those miles.
Remus doesn't make a full exhaust for the A4. Make sure the exhaust you get has the downpipe included. You may want to get a high flow cat installed at the same time.
Skip the intake and get a chip. APR or GIAC, whichever dealer is closest to your house.
If you plan on getting the ASA AR1's (I have a set and love them), get a spring and shock combo or coilovers. It will look fugly if you don't. If you decide to go with springs, get the shocks at the same time. Otherwise you'll be installing the shocks a few months later when the stock set goes bye bye.

Ok now I kind of feel bad. I see that on most forums, young drivers get "flamed" for wanting a cool car for their first.
Well, I am 15, and have Straight A's on my report cards, and believe it or not, I have saved almost $12,000 on my own, So please dont say that my parents bought me the car.

Im pretty sure as well that 150hp isnt too much for a responsible teen.

So flame me if u want, but I just needed to finally tell a forum my age...

Nope ive been working as a receptionist/cleaner//typist for a Custom Home Granite & Marble office. Been getting almost 3k every 6 months.
Yup, Since my parents own the business, I started a month before I turned 14, and now im almost 16.

Jeez...Im starting to shy away from these Audis...Seem unreliable to me =/
But then again, so are Mercedes & BMW too.
My mom has a 2005 C230 (along the lines of the A4) with only 8k miles on it, the tranny has already had to be replaced.

Hmm, Maybe I will check out like an 01 IS300, or somethin along that lines...but it has to be on the cheaper side though.
Definately not a WRX, and not a Celica GT, I dont even know what to look at now =/ Any suggestions?

Im finding that that Lexus IS300s are averaging 16-18k on Cars.com (around 2001)
I worked the payment estimator till it was down to 177 per month, and I priced all the taxes, and APRs pretty high for a more "average" case. Yes, I know the payment estimator is well, just an estimator lol

Thanx for the help Panda
