Hi all, my name is Jeff. I just purchased a 1999 A4 that is in great condition. No wrecks, good carfax, ect. I have a corolla that died as a daily driver as it approached 200k miles. In the garage I have a 1994 toyota supra single turbo as my recreational vehicle.
Anyhow for the money I love the fact that you get all wheel drive, turbo, leather with heated seats, HID lights, and an overall smooth vehicle. The previous owner had replaced most mechanical disfunctions including a new tranny, suspension, timing belt, and some sensors.
The only problem that I am running into, is that after purchasing this car I cannot get it to pass Utah emmissions because the check engine light will not operate. Being that the dash is digital is there a possibility where the bulb has burned out where the CEL is located? or is that digital as well? I do remember the previous owner saying that the dash cluster is an upgraded 2001 model and I do not know if this is a feasable upgrade since I am a total newb to the audi world.
Overall I am happy with the car and hopefully I can meet some good people here and get some help with any issues I may encounter. Thanks.

You will find some help for your question over in the A4 section. I have read about someone doing a CEL light replacement on here before, so you can probably do a search for it and there might be a DIY with it.
