Default New 2 me A4 Avant - chip first, then?

Just bought my first audi, a 99 1.8T with 74K on it. (runs well, but not quite as well as the girlfriend's '01 Passat! that's just not right, heh)

I've heard that Audi/VW got a bit more power out of the 1.8 in '01+, but I haven't seen a list of how. Is it softare, hardware, a combo?

I'm thinking of putting a chip in of course. I was looking at the neuspeed .8 bar since I'm not sure that the internals are solid enough to handle any big pressure numbers. I was perusing the airbox mods as well, which could be next.

any suggestions on a step by step to decent power and throttle response?

-thanks

Try and use the search function, there is alot of info for the 1.8T. I myself started with Intake and Exhaust, and Im looking to chip next. Im going to go with the GIAC, because I have a TIP transmission, and their software is tailored to me. Welcome to the forums, there is alot of info here, if you are willing to look for it.

Welcome to the forums.

Neuspeed has the the lowest power gains out of all the chips. Go with GIAC or APR. To decide between the 2, find out which dealer is closer.
