Talking New to 1.8T

Hi, I used to own a 97' A4 2.8 Quattro and in a few days I will be the new owner of a 2000 A4 1.8T and I was wondering what were somethings I should look out for. and also wondered if the Oil sump had to be an ATW one (dumb question I know but its for my own sanity to ask) any input would be highly appreciated

Take the oil pan off and clean it really good to make sure there is no sludge to clog your oil pickup. #1 killer of those engines. Audi didn't specify which oil to use and 10,000 miles is never good either.

Noted very much I plan on keeping the 1.8t forever, the oil pan is cracked and the head and timing belt were replaced and everything else I'm doing myself. I would just need to know if I could use any oil pan from the B5 years or would it just be ATW specific

grease and oil running through your veins! welcome to your new addiction.

As for the oil pan, I'm pretty sure any 1.8T pan will work, but don't quote me.
