Just ordered my A5...
And want to learn as much as I can about it before it shows up, thought it would be a good idea to meet some experts here. So hello!
I'm Zach, just ordered a 2012 A5 Prestige with the 6 speed manual, plus the sport and drive select packages. It's Moonlight Blue Metallic with Linen Beige interior plus the Dark Walnut inlays and the 19" Y wheels.
I'm only mediocre at stick so I've decided to find an old Miata and drive it until the car arrives so that I'm prepared.
I guess I'll start off with a couple questions. Is that a good choice of car? Will 4 months of practice with a stick be enough?

Hi Zach.
Having driven nothing but stick until moving to the states, I would say that 4 months will be plenty. Only thing is that the clutch will probably have a different feel and bite point, so it may still take you a little while to get the best from your new car. I think one of the best ways to get a good feel for your clutch is to practice hill starts.
Get the bite point on the peddle, enough so you can feel the car wants to start to move forward. Let off the hand brake, ( the car should just sit there on the clutch ), give it a little more gas and feather the clutch out to move off.
