Hello guys I'm obviously new here, and joined up to learn more about Audis. I've been driving a 1994 Mazda RX-7, which is a blast, but now that I've got a garage and driveway, I'm looking for a daily driver. I need AWD for trips to Lake Tahoe and visiting the mountains I grew up in, and an A4 Quattro would do quite nicely for what I want. I don't know Audis much, but I've got some experience working on my RX-7 and was raised around sports cars. Well, I guess thats about it, fwiw I go to school at UC Davis but home is in SoCal, so maybe I can make it to some meets and bring the A4 I'll hopefully purchase in the next month or so. Josh

Probably a '96 to '99. I know the 2.8 went to DOHC in like 1997 or 1998 and the 1.8T came later (1997 right?), but I'm a bit undecided as to which motor I should go with. I know I want the manual tranny, records of maintainence and of course, AWD. I'm lurking around the forums and other sites trying to learn as much as I can before I make a purchase. Any suggestions or advice is always welcome. Thanks for your time. Josh
