Default I don't know it

Hi guys.

I'm new to the audi world but have been a fan for several years. Out of the luxury sedans i really like the interior and the quality engines. Got a great new job that allows me to be more loose with my wallet so I want to put down on a new '06 s4 b7. I've always loved S4's and new if i was going to get an audi, that was going to be my first one. On the audi manufacturer website, it says the rs4 is coming out in spring. I love speed and handling but is it going to be that much better than the s4? I saw the top gear review on bbc and that guy loved the rs4, even more than the m3. But has anyone seen the 07 m3? that thing looks like a monster as well. I'm not a hardcore driver but love quality machines. Any advice or tips or other suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks!

Welcome to the forums! It sounds like you've got some big decisions coming up.

I guess the first question is - How much are you willing to spend? The next would be - What can I get for that?

The RS4 is gong to cost considerably more than an S4 and I haven't seen the pricing yet on the new M3.

Hey welcome to the forum. There's more to owning a RS4 than just "it's better than an M3". It's a limited production sports sedan that's a collectors item for Audi enthusiasts.

I'm willing to spend around $60,ooo USD. I've just liked audi's you telling me the rs model is a limited version makes me want it more. However, i don't want to go broke after buying the car because with the upsurging gas prices, and with the v8 engine, and a heavy foot, money will be flying to fill my tank up faster than i can say woohoo! I also saw somewhere about an anniversary edition s4 if anyone could indulge me with any info of that. Thanks for the replies.

Sure there really isn't too much to tell about the 25th aniversary. It just has some exterior changes (more agressive body panels) and a few insides like a different stick shift ****.

There was a link on the forums for a 25th Anni on eBay. They wanted around $67,000 if I remember right. It seemed a little high.

That said, I think the RS4 will be in the high 70s. I've even read talk of 80s. Ouch.

The RS4 is out for you due to the fact that it's base is 67,500 and with options you are looking at 75-80K.

The new V8 M3 won't be out until Q2 2007 and will most likely cost $10K more than the E46. With options it's going to be right around the 60-65K mark. I am pretty sure it is going to be a great car though, bar the looks.

The S4 is a great all-round car that you can get new for around 50K, plus you have the advantage of Quattro. Yep, it's a little heavier than an M3 and doesn't quite handle/feel as good, but for me the S4 is the best compromise of performance, luxury, build quality and versatility. Good luck with the decision, whatever you go with will be a great car!

I sat in a new S4 not too long ago. It was really nice. You are going to love the car. It will be a better daily driver than the RS4, even if it won't go as fast.

The S4 has plenty of power. The RS4 is almost insane, I couldn't see spending $20k more than a S4.

We just got an '02 S6, it has the same engine as the S4, you don't need any more power than that.
