Hi all im new to these forums, Actually i registered here because well to be honest i dont actually own an audi yet but i am currently looking for one. I am looking for a used A4 and well i am at the point im ready to get an A4 but dont know what i should look for...If u guys could point a few things out to me that would be great!! I currently own an Infiniti g20 2000 which i love but i need a second daily driver, I have always loved the A4 so now i need a second car and i definitely dont want to pass up the chance now to find a used one. Well i would like to find an A4 and well i would like to do some upgrades myself if possible, things like the rims, body, and hopefully some performance options. Do u guys/gals have any good tips on which model year i should look for? the ups and downs of each years models? Also in general how expensive are parts for these cars oh and i suppose i am looking for a 1.8 model not a 2.8 i believe it is? 1.8 come in turbo? As for the engine and such can they take a hammering? Like for example my g20 has about 170k on it and the thing keeps going...how reliable are the A4's? I would also like to lower the A4 and was wondering what applications i could use and the best options for doing it. This will be my second project car so not everything has to be done right away i wanted to upgrade stuff gradually. I am concerned however with high mileage on the engines or should i not be concerned to much with that? Hahaha wow so many questions and im pretty sure i have alot more but i guess for now thats a good start for me, any responses would be greatly appreciated thanks so much all.

 

Hi and welcome.....I am pretty new to this forum as well. My personal opinion would be to go with a B6 model A4......either a 2003 or 2004. I think they look the best and if you go with an '03 or '04 those were the last years of that version. SO by then Audi has seemed to work out all the kinks.
If your modding the car, I would definitely go with a 1.8T versus the 3.0L V6.....I recently had my 1.8T chipped (APR 93) and she can outperform a stock 3.0L now (I also have upgraded exhaust).
