Hi! Advice please? 56 plate A6 2.0 TDI question
Hi! Sold my astra Vxr last week to secure the mortgage on my first house (scary stuff). My partner and I have been to look at an A6 estate today, 2.0 TDI SE. It's covered 120k but everything feels tight and drives as well as I'd expect for a german engineered motor.
What should I look out for/regular faults?
It's the 140bhp SE, are they a gutless to live with as ive read? If so, I guess putting the 170 map on helps (and guess it's the same engine so £250 for a cheeky remap?).
Is there an easy way to get more grunt if needed (other than get the 2.7l lump). Is it the turbo holding it back and if so, is there a £500 bolt on big turbo to get to 200bhp?
It's going to be a motor for my lady, so doesn't need to pull like a train. It is a manual (are they better than tiptronics?) and has the mmi bits and bobs, but the display is red text, are there colour screens and plain screens? Didn't play with it to be honest.
Finally, sorry for the monster post and thanks for reading. I love forums and have been on vxronline for 18 months posting both informative links and opinions and a fair amount of mindless drivel. Hopefully I'll be joining the Audi club soon so will be here all the time too!
Thanks
Rick
