Default Hello...newbi here

Hi there everyone.

I have opted to join this crackin' forum as I am about to buy my 1st non-company Audi and need some advice on the basic common faults for the age and what to look out for please.

I have in my sight a 2001 A4 1.9Tdi 100 with 124000 miles with full service history and 3 owners but no details on clutch or cam belt change. It's under powered for what I want but seems to be very good at £3k.

My second option is a 2002 A4 1.9Tdi 130 Sport with 130000 miles and only part service history and again at £3K.

I just need to know the common things on Audi A4 to look for and noises like dual mass flywheel, what is common to go at that mileage and when should a cam belt be changed on these?

PS Which models come with cruise control please?

Many thanks all.

The Swaffham Sizzler

Willkommen to the forums!

Unfortunately (for your questions), most of our active members are from North America. We don't have experience with the models of car you are looking at. We do have some European, and Australia/NZ members, but I honestly can't really remember seeing any significant discussion.

perhaps you can hunt around the forums and find something useful. maybe you can even be the one that gets some of those discussions started.

good luck

have fun
