Hello from New Zealand - quick question?
Hello audi pple,
I live in auckland new zealand and am lookin at gettin a 1996 Audi 2.6L V6. The guy has it at a good price, but its done 140,000kms. Should i be seriously worried. are there any major problems which happen after that much mileage?
Also, he doesnt have pics of it yet and was just wondering 1996 is the newer shape audi? or is that the last year of the older audi's?
Thanks for all your help, this is a very good forum.
And one more question. how hard is it to convert a auto to a manuel with the audi's? very very expensice?
cheers

RE: Hello from New Zealand - quick question?
Hi Jimmy, welcome to the forum.
1996 is the second year of the first generation A4. The newer body style was introduced in 2002. Right now the newest style is being released in Europe.
There is three generations, the b5, b6 and newly the b7.

IF you are looking for a car with that many miles, make sure the timing belt has been changed along with the water pump and the tensioner. They are known to break. Also check out the control arms and make sure the suspension isn't squeeky.
