Hello Looking to buy A6 avant (need help)
Hi
I am looking to jump into the world of audi with a used A6 avant wagon. I could use some help.
I have narrowed it down between a 2000 a6 avant 2.8L 79K (cluster needs replacement pixel issue) or a 2002 A6 avant 3.0L with 95K
Can someone help me choose
Thanks

Are you looking to put any modifications to the car?
If you do, I would suggest getting the 2.7T engine since there are many more aftermarket parts available for that particular engine.
The pixels on our cars (before the colored LCD) are common problem. However, there are couple of companies that will fix this. If you go to the dealership, they will only change the whole gauge for around $800.
From the two choices you have, all I can say the 2002 has some facelift upgrades that Audi put in there newer C5 A6's. It's really up to you which one to go with.
Good luck.

None of the above
my '99 2.8 with 95k on it has something new wrong with it everyday. If you an extra $5k sitting around for repairs, go ahead and get it, otherwise I hope you are a better do-it -yourselfer than I am, because these cars are expensive to fix. As far as the 3.0 goes, I don't have any experience with it, but I figure it was short lived for a reason. If you have to have an audi get something with a warranty.
