Default Headlights

i have a 1998 A4 and my headlights just stopped working I can manually turn on my brights but i have to hold the lever. I know its not my bulbs either because i just recently had those replaced. I know my dad did something under my hood today is it possible that he hit something loose? Please help.

I have a 92 quattro with the same prob I'm checking out. Looks like the turnlight switch cluster is where the headlight swich assembly is. Pricy to have replaced at audi, the cheapest i've seen the swich on line is about $150. Looks like memeber "fastnhard" had the same switch problem in 2008 and disassembled the switch, cleaned the contacts, and wallah worked again. Don't know how good you are at auto repair but that sounds way cheaper than the shop repair est for the swich. I'm going to do the switch cleaning tomorrow on mine. good luck
