Default RE: Getting a 00 TT

I know the 225 can get close to 300hp with a chip, full exhaust, and a manifold (RS2 comes to mind). Then a set of injectors and an upgraded turbo will get it well into the 350hp range. New intercooler, con rods, cams, pistons, etc. can possibly push the 400hp envelope - especially if the upgraded turbo is a large unit.

I would think that mods done to a 180hp engine would come within 30 horses of the equivalent 225hp upgraded engine at each stage.

The most cost effective mods are the chip and exhaust, but, if you're doing the full exhaust, you might as well do the manifold, too.

Don't forget: Regardless of whatever is done, the DV must be upgraded to support the increased boost pressure. And, if the coolant sensor has not been upgraded (probably hasn't), you should do the swap - it's a $5 and 5 minute DIY investment that will give peace of mind.
