Finally A Real Car
Hello to all on Audi Forums...
I have been driving around with my parents vehicles my entire life, minus 2 yrs in NYC! I was sick of this life... free car or not!
So finally I decided to buy my own car. I looked all over for the perfect vehicle and test drove many cars such as Audi's, BMW's... the usual. Based on everything I have read, heard, researched, and test driven I found the choice to be a pretty easy one... Audi. Less than a week ago I finally made my purchase, a Manual 2002 A4 3.0 6Cyl Denim Blue Audi with the sports package, a black interior and 42000 miles. I am in love with this car, it beats anything my parents would ever buy. Life is great and so is my car. Everyone who has owned an Audi before me, BRAVO! I only wish I would have thought about this sooner.
See ya's around.

RE: Finally A Real Car
I have strongly considered the spoiler, debated the bumper. I think my first purchase is going to be snow tires though, any recs? Come spring it will be a set of rims, spoiler and who knows what else. Thanks for the ideas, let me know if you have any others.

Bridgestone Blizzak's are considered to be pretty much the gold-standard when it comes to snow tires. They are ridiculously soft though, so if you're not driving through snow, you're going to wear them out pretty fast. I'd also highly recommend the Dunlop Winter Sport M3. IIRC, the winter rubber I purchased last year was Firestone Winterforce (don't really remember) and I've got no complaints.
Painted lowers isn't the same as an entirely new bumper...he means painting the black plastic under your doors and front/rear bumpers to match your body paint. It's really easy for the silver Audis (since Duplicolor Radiant Silver is a spot-on match), but you'd definitely have to buy factory-matched paint from the dealer or from PaintScratch.com. It'll be a bit more expensive.
Lip spoilers are dead sexy. Check out SpoilerDepot.com....you can get a really good quality lip spoiler (painted) for about $150-200.
A great, and FREE, mod for you: take the amber out of your headlights! It's much easier to do on the B6 A4s (2002-2005) than it was on my B5 (1996-2001), and I think it makes our cars look great. Search the archives for "Clear Corner mod," there are tons of detailed walkthroughs on this forum, as well as other forums.
Welcome!

RE: Finally A Real Car
Thanks for all of the help and suggestions. If anyone else has any ideas for my vehicle let me know. I don't want to drive around in a "pimp mobile," but I want my car to look sexy, yet I want to keep it classy.

Yeah, good call on the floor mats...some rubber ones are a must-have for Rochester winters...great Christmas gift!
Make sure you buy them for the correct year if you buy them new, and you can occasionally find used ones in the classifieds.

HAHA... Those are the dealer pics and that is why you see the ugly floormats. I have my own pics without those in but I didn't have the time to shrink them to the proper size to upload them to the site. I have the solid black ones to match the interior. Good eyes though. Anyone else?

Nice ride! I'm a new member to the forums as well.
I recommend a new set of rims with your new set of snow tires. I just got my Audi a few days ago and already have my winter setup picked out. Canada's North is infamous for salt on the roads and its a killer on vehicles. Don't buy rims and rubber until that snow comes, but research what you want and scoop it whenever there is a deal. Like another memeber said, snow tires are generally soft... My tire shop will fit me with rims and winter tires for less than a grand. My projection with my summer setup swapped with my winter setup will give me about 6 seasons of good tire wear. (That's if I behave!) Welcome to the forums and see you around!
