I got an 97 1.8T Q A4 5spd. abt 5 months ago.
All stock... and I ain't gonna mod.
My first Audi ever and 2nd german car (got a C230).
What I like...
.. price i got it for... 101k miles and everything working fine for 56k (anyone wanna beat that price?) oh.. came with a set of new tires (100 miles on them) and the owner had it
washed and detailed just 5 hours before I buy it.
.. handles very well
.. just owning it is a great feeling (great comments by others)
.. Turbo is nice (3rd car driven with Turbo)
.. it is just the right size for me.. not too big but big enough
.. best thing - gals love it and guys like it.

What I don't like...
.. exhaust is toooo soft (I can use a louder one)
.. why do I have to push down for the reverse.. why??? (i got used to it though)
.. I could never squeal any tire when launching. (I could on my stock civic) but then again quattro aint suppose to so...
.. the car is too low for mi papa (he drive it sometimes especially when his ride aint rolling)
he tore off the front lip several times at the parking (he wont stop early) bottom part of the front bumper came off once and the sand covers came loose.
he didnt put back the sand covers right and drove for 3 weeks with them hanging (I was in SD.. he is in LA). now there is a big hole right behind the intercooler. [&o]
good thing is it is just the right height for me though.

I can go on and on with either list but nahh...
I have done 100 on the highway. Taken into the mountains. Did 90 in the rain (too bad if it had not been for the pot holes)

i've heard that before....many times. if you want to stick to that statement, my advise would be to stay the hell away from these forums

diesel geek makes a short shifter that eliminates the push-down feature, if you really, really hate it.

sand covers?

 

by sand cover, i mean the black plastic that align the wheel well from inside.

 

had a modded jeep stolen from me and then bought the audi telling my self i wouldnt mod it (knowingly lying to my self) well ive had it for a year and have already done way more to it than i had expected.
