Considering an Audi
Hey guys, new here. Thought I might join because it looks like the wife is making me buy a respectable car. I work in Finance and I've been driving a Ford Ranger for years and she seems to think I should be driving something nicer. I personally have never heard a client complain about what I drive but I know I wont win the argument so Audi it is.
Anyway, as you can tell by my username I'm a bit of a redneck. I live in the country, have a shop full of tools(that I actually use..) do a lot of offroading, ATVing, Camping(thats real camping, not with a cute little campground), fishing, etc. I've been working with cars, trucks and Jeeps for over 10 years now and enjoy every minute of it. I think people who pay mechanics are completely nuts.
I'll be sticking around doing some reading on all these crazy computer systems and gizmos you guys have so hopefully I'm not all confused when my seat somehow bolts it self to the ceiling or something silly.
thanks

Well being that I'm a cheap *** I dont really want to go above 10grand but I probably will consider up to 15g. In that range I need something that looks as nice as possible, unfortunately that means as fancy as possible when it comes to the woman. shes one of those "Oh I like that!" .. "... Yeah thats an Escalade.."
So because of that EXTREMELY precise(lol) criteria I'm looking at up to 2005 A4s and up to around 02-03 A6s.
To be honest I'm not picky. I'd prefer a small engine for the mileage as I live in the country and work in the city. We carpool together in to save gas currently.
Auto vs manual isn't a big deal for me, I'd consider either one. And for the Turbo well.. for simplicity I'd prefer N/A but I wouldnt mind turbo. Never worked on one before though. I have a few friends with 500+hp Jap Scrap I call them. They refer to them as Skylines, 180sx, 240sx,etc. However they seem to always be in my shop being worked on.
Yeah I have a few friends/clients who have beautiful garages with tile floor(I cant see why anyone would want this) and spent twice or more as much as I did on tools. Its a damn shame they've never seen a speck of oil or grease.
