Back in the high life again
She arrived this afternoon. Burned a third of a tank already. Would've liked to burn more...
We had an 1998 A8. This one feels more powerful. Definitely less chubby. In sport mode, devastating in city traffic. Took a trip through the metropolis...fast until Chambers St...crawl past the Battery Tunnel. Into Brooklyn, then back home. Definitely more fun on the way back. It's really easy to get 90 way before you realize it might not be a good idea...
She promises me she can get me out of trouble, if I don't act like a fool...
Hit some rough patch and she felt a bit of a wallow...I promised her I would be more mindful of crap road in the future...
Everywhere else, she was tight...very tight, yet still she was able to make me feel at ease. No chance to really push it on that route anyway, but still great fun. Been driving an Outback for a few years now, and the contrast is, as any Audiphile would know, stark.
What a lovely sound she makes when asked to perform...
It almost seems a shame to hold her back at all, but we have to obey some reasonable limits when it affects those around us (or there might be Gendarmes nearby). At least as long as they are not asleep...
Everything feels perfect to the touch. Every control is exactly where you would expect it to be. The parking feature for the mirrors is a hoot! This one has the Xenons also. These should be standard equipment on all cars IMO. When they first turn on, the calibration sequence is a short little geek lap dance to give you a cheap thrill and a giggle, most definitely a "that's really cool". This car is really going to be hard to drive slowly...
It's also going to be difficult to take it out of sport mode...
