these pictures could be classified as marketing, i just posted them so you can get more things to analyze

but as for myself its the car features that attract me to a certain car, not marketing.

if you want to see more of them i have a couple and welcome to audiforums.com <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley10.gif border="0"> <edited><editID>Firestarter1984</editID><editDate>37970.9953703704</editDate></edited>

Thanks, Firestarter. WOW. I'd never seen these before - they're extreme! Post more if you have more, definitely! WHy do you think the NZ ads are so different - better, more cohesive, stronger - than the ads in the US?</P>

i will post the rest when i get home

and as for reason that they have those ads there and not here, i think that its kind of the same thing as it was with the infamous honda ad that involved alot of parts interacting with each other, their marketing people didnt think that the average american consumer would "get" it, good thing i'm from ukraine <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

Recent Audi marketing has been clean and sophisticated. They do not ramble on about heated seats, power sunroof, blah blah. They show the car in very artistic environments, usually giving notice of the engineering behind the advances Audi has made in automotive technology. ("Never Follow") Many of their commercials do not even have words or narration.

Albeit they have had a couple duds in US tv ads ("Are You an A4 Driver" comes to mind).

Also, North American advertising is much different than the European merketing trends - in Europe Audi often directly compares their cars to BMW. In America they choose not to do that - since BMW is typically thought to be the "ultimate driving machine" and most people actually believe it over here.

Europeans understand the technically superior ideals of vehicles, whereas Americans typically believe bigger is better (HEMI all the way)... Hard to convince the avg American that a tuned and turbocharged 1.8L 4 cyl engine can easily defeat a 3.6L V6. The mentality of the audience has a lot to do with marketing. Audi's motto is 'Vorsprung durch Technik' means 'Progress through technology'.

They have stayed true to that model. That's something traditional American's don't really care about.

Of course when I say "americans" this and "americans" that, I don't mean ALL americans. I am talking about the overall mentality of the culture (north america). There are always exceptions: I'm Canadian - and I love my turbo!

Actually, Audi introduced the new style S4 in blue and red in most of their ads. The silver phase was kinda let go a couple years ago now.
