99 Audi A4 quatro shifting problem

99 Audi A4 quatro shifting problem
The tranny on my A4 is hanging between 2-3 sometimes 3-4 then shifting hard after a few seconds. Doesn't always do this. Some times is smooth. I hooked a gage into the com. and it came up with the TPS as fautly. My question, will that cause the shifting problem? Please answer to PA.GhostMtman1@yahoo.com
