Thumbs up

Good morning all,

Just became a first-time owner of an Audi. Bought a 2009 Audi A5 Prestige in black/black and very happy with it. Looking forward to learning a lot from the experienced members on this forum. Thanks for providing such a great resource.

Hey everyone! Been looking around the site for a few days now and I've learned quite a bit about the a4 already. Looking to pick up a B6 A4 6-spd sometime very soon!

I'm sorry to 'hear' of your bad experience. What types of problems? How many miles on the vehicle? It's service history?

Question The new guy needing advice.

Just trying to find out some information on here about my
2002 Audi A6 2.7t Quattro biturbo automatic with 130k miles on her. She has a few problems but she looks beautiful. I am currently deployed for the 2nd time with the Army and when I return home I am wanting to make a few changes but would like some free advice. First of all, I have an oil leak and I have replaced all seals and gaskets but still having oil leak and also having some leaking in the transmission. I was thinking about doing a complete engine and transmission swap. Maybe take an A4 single turbo engine and transmission? Would everything line up? Suggestions please.

Check if there is any pipe that connects to the transmission, and if there is, check if the pipe is in order- ie if it is not damaged or leaking . It could be only the transmission that is leaking.
I have Audi a6, quattro, 1997/1998 when it was leaking I thought it was the engine that was leaking oil ; I kept on adding oil pending the day I will go to the mechanic. But unfortunately, for me the car after two days could not transmit when I put it on drive and finally it got burnt. When that happened there was some smoke coming out from the bullnet. At that point the car couldn't move again.

I tolled it to the mechanic and he told me that the transmission was burnt because oil finished inside it- a pipe got damaged. So I changed the transmission (bought another one) and the car started working again.
I suppose the transmission can be repaired before the it burns. Maybe, if it is the problem of damaged pipes, then, they can be replaced and some gear oil added to a required level.

Default Audi A6 Newbie

Hi, I am Ebz. I just bought my first Audi two days ago. It is a 2004 A6 3.0 silver/ black with 81k on it. I joined this forum hoping to find insights on how to best maintain this type of automobile and maybe start doing some modifications. This is my first car after driving my Nissan Pathfinder for 14 years, I am excited about the change.

Hello everyone, I'm Levi. Thinking of buying an Audi and wanted to consult people who are more familiar with Audi's before I purchase.
You'll probably see some simple questions from me for a little bit, just a warning..

Thanks!
