Hi, all. We are looking at buying a 2012 Audi A6 quattro sedan. Have considered also the BMW 535i and the Mercedes E-class sedan. We much prefer the Audi on most points - styling, standard features & price, all-wheel drive, engine responsiveness, etc. However, we're hesitating because Audi has had such a poor reliability/repair record... but is that out of date? Has Audi improved (a lot) in the 2012 A6?

 

I have a 2007 A4 3.2 Quattro. This is my third Audi and will probably buy another one as my next purchase. I have 60,000 miles on this one with no issues - still rides like new and my last one had 80,000 on it when I parted with it and repairs that were made on it were standard for the age and miles that would occur on any vehicle. Control arms were the most expensive.
If All Wheel Drive is important to you then the Audi is the only car that you should consider. The other two pale in comparison. I have friends that have the BMW X and most have had issues especially with the front differentials. The 4matic from Mercedes is better than the BMW for reliability.
If you plan on owning it for a long time I suggest that you change the oil more often than suggested by the manufacturer. It will cost you a bit more but you should never have any internal engine issues by changing it more frequently.

Hello everyone. I have a 2002 A6 Quattro. I love this car. I just purchased it for one of my daughters. It has a few problems that I need to fix. After I fix this one, or my mechanic fixes it. I'm gunna buy another one. What a sweet ride for being almost 10 years old.

Hey all, Scobeywan here from the williamsport area of Pennsylvania. I'm gearing up to get ready to purchase my first ever audi . i was looking around for forums that had people who were enthusiastic about their cars and have all of the know-how to possibly give me some tips and pointers as i venture into Audi ownership! im getting an Audi A4 Quattro, Vr6 motor (i was told) and it's automatic . pearl white with black roof, and all the bells and whistles!
