StL thread... no gtg talk, just shoes/kelly's car

Not a big fan of the Rabbit here. I like Vee Dubs and all, but I'm still not sure I'd ever own one. For example, the other night I was messing around at the local VW/Audi dealership and came across a nice looking white Jetta Wagon. It was pretty plain-jane - dark grey cloth seats, no sunroof, etc. but it had a manual in it (I have a crush on wagons with manuals). So I'm looking at the tag, thinking the price is pretty fair and all, and I get down to the bottom and find a line that reads "Final location of assembly: Mexico". That kind of ruins it for me.

Beetles and jettas are mexican. The rabbit, GTI, R32, passat, tiguan and touareg are european. Il tell you what though, I hate the idea of "made in mexico" but they must have some top notch mexicans, because my parents have two MKVs, my dads GTI, German, and my moms GLI, mexican. I cant find a single difference in quallity, finish, and actually, the jetta has better wheels... BBS instead of Ronal. When I was at VW, there was a red TDI wagon stick with 18s, drool! It moved pretty good to, compared to the last generation of TDIs. Over all, the Rabbit was very nice, just like my dads, but with a better ride quallity. I was just dissapointed in the drivetrain. The 2.5 was just plain weak. And the autos not to good either, the 5 speed is not bad though, still to slow for a little car like that.
