Frosty's Rallycross Coupe Quattro
#11
3-7-13
Already picked up another S2 V6 bumper for a good price off a friend, along with 2 b3 US 1-piece bumpers, getting one of the US bumpers painted real quick and i'll mount that bad boy up.
Mounted the b5s4 avus wheels to the coupe, they look pretty good on the coupe in gunmetal on black. I'll get a pic of that all together this weekend.
Going to another rallyx this weekend, hopefully there will be more dirt then ice. Tires that are on the avus's aren't nearly as grippy in the ice then the old tires on the thunderbird wheels.
very excited for this coming weekend
3-9-13
here's what happened to the previous s2 bumper. i'm missing quite a few pieces still
finished making my mudflaps. i think they came out great.
3-10-13
decided to go for a nice little rallyx. it was a ton of fun.
after 4 runs
after 8 runs
after 12 runs
and a picture afterwords by dan, definitely a beautiful photo
there was so much dirt in the wheels afterwords, causing some major vibrations so i stopped to scrape it out
here's a nice little pile from one wheel

Alignments back in check, all the tires are holding air for now.
back to the project of the exhaust.
May have a fuel leak somewhere as i don't have pressure after the car sits for a bit. Fuel pump sounds good but the lines are crappy looking, and the filter is from 10 years ago... probably not helpin.
anyways, here's the pictures from Jim, thank you sir, they came our fantastic.

183,340 miles on the car
changed the oil with some 5w-40, spark plugs with some autolite coppers, and redid the isv hose to the intake mani with a flexible metal hose (power steering hose crossing in front of radiator)
old sparks look pretty shitty, there's a new O2 sensor in bout 500 miles ago, wondering if the previous one fouled them up, if they were shitty designed sparkplugs (ev3 platinum), or if something else is going on.
figured out in order to mount the 1 piece b3 usdm bumpers you need the shocks as well.
2 piece bumper shocks on top, 1 piece on bottom. (2 piece has the tow threads attached while the 1 piece has a piece attached to the crossmember.
cq shocks don't have the depth required, plus they are offset from center so they bumper would look off anyways.
here's the style bumper for rallyx, i picked up 2 of them for free. just need paint
edit:
i thought something was strange about my odometer, i could of swore i was over 184,000... looking at my post before, on 3-3-13 i was at 184,500 miles.
yet now i'm at 183,400 miles...
apparently someone drove my car then threw it in reverse and put a cinder block on the pedal for too long.
the funnier thing is, it's still recording the miles properly. it just skipped back 1,100 miles somehow.
ooo lookie what i bought
i am starting to work on the radio upgrade.
here's what we have so far.
not sure of the quality of the audiobahn speakers. i know the sub is pretty good though seeing it is a rockford.
i have to do some trimming on the stereo to get it to fit, then some more rewiring.

I must say I love your car, and the whole idea of rally racing, i've been wanting to do something similar to my car, but being my dd and family car im not sure if I want to yet or not, question though, did you use different struts and spring or just the oem ones, been looking for stuff to raise my car (04 a6 sline) but havent had any luck.
