Where do the water stains come from?? this seems to be a common problem with B5s

mine came from the sunrof but i have a b6.. i have the sun roof opened and one of my friends dumped a water bottle out the sunroof and it all came back into the car when i hit the breaks

Hmmm... I dont have any water leaks in my B5 (at least none that I can see/my carpets are all dry), but I get these water lines on my A and C pillars. Seems to be around the plastic inserts that say "airbag", but they spread out from there. Maybe that last part has nothing to do with it.

It is not terrible and if you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't really notice the stains. I have no problem cleaning it, but would like to get rid of the problem all together from it's source.
