hi whoever can help please do so.
I purchased this gearbox as a 016 audi gearbox.
i am putting this gearbox behind a 5.8L ford engine an the engine will be mid mounted.from other sources or forums they show that an audi 016 gearbox has got its gear selector on the left hand side.
my selector is coming from the rear should i be worried that i have been sold the wrong gearbox my gearbox is similar to the one in this photo

What kind of kit car is that goint into? Never thought id see a good use for the audi front wheel drive trannys. As for the tranny, im not really sure what cars it came in but i dont deal with alot of fwd's. If you give me the numbers off the tranny i may be able to help you figure out what tranny you have.

 

One thing to make sure is that you dont have a cvt trans. It has a selector near the rear on what would be the passenger side in the vehcile. Its on the top but on the side of the trans. It will also have a module and connector on the rear of the trans. It will be shorter and wider than the trans pictured. The cvt will never stand up to a 351.

 

thank you for trying to help . well here goes . on the top of the bellhousing there are stamped number , they are 0946AXG19032 , there is a tag that was fastened to the gearbox and that has Audi 2.3E 93 . Then stamped on the top of the body of the box are the letters NH 3 . On the left hand side of the box loooking from the back is cast wwo 5 012 301 103 H GERMANY .
These are the only numbers i have found .
