well you cant judge all kids by the few stupid ones who think there fast and the furious now

...we can judge by statistics [sm=icon_beat.gif]

if you get the TT just be carefull! like someone said, dont become another statistic! If you can, go ahead and get a different car for your first one! learn your limits and abilities first before you get into a car like the TT!

just be carefull![8D]

Honestly.

What i would do:

Especially if your parents are truely intent on giving you 20gs is this:

It will show demonstrate responsibility and you'll be truely grateful 20 years from now.

Get yourself a $10,000 car. Insurance will be alot cheaper on it too.

Take the other $10,000 and put it into an investment/retirement (i know it's the last thing on your mind right now) fund.

With the insurance savings, add $100/mth into that account.

@ 5 % interest, in 50 years you will have $388,059.03
in 30 years you would have $127,903.31.

Just a thought.

Hey wanna, congrats in school!! Hate to say it, but i'm twice your age.
Plan 1
Spend half the money on an older A4 and the rest have your parents put in a cd for you to spend in a year after you did well in school that yr. Then you can mod the hell out of the A4.
Plan 2
Keep doing well in school. Get in a good college. Then ask your parents for any ride you want.
That will be your incentive to do well and their happiness that you made it.

Good luck, sloquat

I have to agree with just about everyone else, I had a series of "hand me down" cars and even though they weren't fast it didn't stop me from getting tickets. I paid $400 a month on liability only insurance for a 87 Honda Accord because I had 9 tickets in 3 years. Can you imagine what insurance would be on a TT? I know I have grown up a lot since then and am now without any tickets, but is was a rough first few years. I had a couple minor accedents, never an injury, but repair casts on a 83 Blazer were only about $200. If your parents pay for the car and some one without insurance rearends you, your looking at $1000. I have been in those shoes too. Just last year I was driveing a dealer loaner A6 while my car was being serviced and an uninsred moterist rearended me. $680 for a 96 bumper. Not worth turning into my insurance at a $500 deductable so I paid out of pocket. You said your pockets not that thick, you better think about these things. Like others have said, if you puchase one without a currant warrenty you are going to have significantly higher maitnace cost than if you were to purchase something less exotic. But Hey, maybe you are the exception to the mass, that 1 out of 1000, and if so, have a great time in your TT.

I know someone who's got a twin turbo Porsche that does 2.5 and beats an R1 off the line and top end. Impressive if you ask me.

sorry stearns, you can't beat an r1 off the line in a car. at least not in anything that isn't running on alcohol. and getting back to all the busa talk, the only production bike faster than the busa stock is the kawi zx-12r, top speed is 212. i had a gsxr 600 for a while that would SPANK anything that revved at me. porsche 911s, vipers, ricers, lambos, vetts, you can't race cars against sportbikes, it doesn't work.
