Default water in car

So it rained here in the low country (that is the south east coast) for two days straight. when i went out to my car this morning it was flooded drivers side. now the water was jsut on that side front and rear, about a inch front and back. so i sucked out as much as i can and opened the windows and letting it air out more. now i know i did not get all teh water and some more is still in the foam under the carpet. but what are my chances that i need new carpet or will i be ok will a shampoo later after it is all dry. or am i jsut screwed for the carpet, everything else works great even the power seats. so i would say i am lucky with that, and i think i jsut did not close the door hard enought and rain got in that way.
thanks for any help.

well if you didnt get all the water out your carpet will mildew and you will hate life. happened to me in my last car. if you shampoo it and what not it could help keeping it from mildewing. What pasrt of the South east do you live in? I live right outside of savannah. It flooded our entire neighborhood. my neighbors boat started floating it was great.

Pull up on the door moldings, & remove the seat. Then pull up on the carpet & get the water form under the carpet.

Found the problem .... the a hole that had the car before me ran a sub wire all the way back. well what ever wire is drivers side they pulled the seal and jsut ran it threw there. and did not reseal the hole, come on now people no wonder my car leaked like it did. i should jsut go shoot them.
