Default Valve cover gasket - anything else while I'm in there?

This weekend I plan on replacing my valve cover gasket.. Starting to leak all over the place. Is there anything crazy I should plan on running in to, and is there anything else I should look at doing while I have the valve cover off?

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Run some seafoam and ofcourse make sure to clean the hell out of the cover and internal scrubbers (if that applies to your engine code)

Run the seafoam before or after? I planned on running some through it after. I have an AEB engine code. Do you know if I have the scrubbers?

I'd say before considering you'd normally want to do your oil after the gasket. You may have the little scrubbers, they are right in the valve cover. When we did mine we just put some seafoam on it to clean them. Nothing to crazy or special to clean.

Agree with the oil change, which never hurts, but make sure that you have the tensioner seal and gasket as it does not usually come with the valve cover set. Good idea to replace the seal as it hardens at the back of the valve cover and does have a tendency to leak.
