Used Airbag Control Module?
Hey,
My B5 S4 Avant's airbag light is on. Was like that when I bought it a 6-7 weeks ago. (throwing faulty airbag control module code). The "dealer" I bought it from said he would fix it but refuses to take it to Audi to have a new airbag control module put in. He said He has one on order and will install it himself then take it to a shop to have it reset to my car. Obviously this will be a used module...my question is..... is this safe/reliable or should I call the Attorney General on this A-hole D-bag?
Thanks guys and gals

RE: Used Airbag Control Module?
Unless you have a warranty through him, at least in NY state, a dealer is only constrained by a 30-day warranty. If the only warranty you have is the implied and required-by-law 30-day, then you should probably be glad he's doing it - if that's the case, he has the right to deny you anything. If you do have warranty coverage, then I think your best bet is to find out the specifics and see if he's allowed to use secondhand parts (I'm not sure about that).
If nothing else, go to www.lawguru.com and post up in the appropriate area - you may be surprised how good the results can be.
