TDI Engine whining sound HELP
Hi people,
Just bought an Audi A3 2.0 TDI.
When accelerating and de-accelerating there is a whine. At first I thought it was a police car in the distance until I realised it was my car. It's not that loud but is noticable. I've never owned a car like this so I dont know what sound are normal and what isn't.
Does anyone know what it could be and is it anything to worry about.
It's under warrenty from the garage so I can get it checked, but any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hi thanks for replying.
yeah. this is my first car with a turbo. it starts to become obvious at about 1500 then gets a bit louder and higher as you acclerate. when you drop your foot off it decreases in pitch. Does sound like a distant police siren.
Just worried it's a turbo problem. I've read on a few posts it could be an indication or the turbo bearings going????? just dont know if i'm fussing about nothing.
