Default Sunroof won't close!

Hey all.
Kinda disappointed. I recently bought a pre-owned certified 2008 A4 not even 2 months ago and today I am having difficulty closing my sunroof. Does anyone have any suggestions? The roof shuts all the way but doesn't stay shut, it opens back up. It happened with my driver's side window once but I didn't think much about it because it closed eventually.

What could be the problem? And does anyone know if its covered by the warranty (6 yr, 100K)

Thanks!

Mine will do that every once in a while...it will close about 3/4 the way then slide back open fully as if something was in the track. I'd suggest maybe getting some WD40 and like a spray keyboard cleaner bottle (pushed air) and make sure your tracks aren't dirty. If our roofs detect anything in the way, they'll reopen as a safety thing. Sometimes if mine does it once, I'll reset it by turning the dial back to fully open then turning it to fully close again and that seems to work.

About your driver window - sounds like a broken window clip. Cost to repair if you do it yourself is $5 per clip at ECStuning.com - don't let the stealership tell you it's your regulator. 95% of the time it's not. I replaced all 4 clips in each my driver & passenger front windows as they started acting with a mind of their own. Never on the way down, but going up they would go up 1/2 way, back down, up again, back down, up 3/4 way, back down, up, down up down up down then would finally close! LOL it was AWFUL and I felt so embarrassed if I was in public. There are write-ups on how to change the clips - just search here or audiworld

Hope this helps!

You should be under the 4 year 50,000 mi. warranty.

Had to chime in because this happened to me also. I ended up going to a glass & window place, they checked it & sprayed lubricant (free of charge) around the perimeter of the window. Glides smoothly now. No more hesitation what so ever.
