I was looking at buying a car and while im driving it to get inspected by my local mechanic the cel comes on. He reads the codes and says that it has the same problem as your car but it doesnt have any of the physical symptoms. anybody have any idea what that could be about?

ok, so i got the vag com cable and scanned the codes myself and got this

17967 - Throttle Valve Control part (J338): Fault in basic settings
P1559 - 35-00 - -
17973 - Throttle Actuator (J338): Lower Stop not Reached
P1565 - 35-00 - -

I ordered a used throttle body, replaced it, drove 50 miles thinking it was fixed and it starts again, doing it more and more often, finally dying on the side of the road and as it does it blinks the low oil pressure symbol.. i did not do a vag com throttle body adaption as i dont have the registered version.. could this be the problem?? or something else..

Look up throttle body alignment. You only have to disconnect and reconnect the battery.

well considering there is no fault for the TPS sensor in an OBDII Audi cause there is no TPS sensor.

There is a potentiometer that measures throttle actuation but its built into a control module.

I'd get the P0(***) code number before paying anymore money for anything

Hmmm.. yeah i have disconnected and reconnected battery and done the turn key method for throttle body alignment multiple times... doesnent seem to help anything, I recently replaced the crankshaft position sensor thinking that was perhaps the problem... not so.. this is very frustrating that it is not pulling up any codes anymore, just blinking the CEL after I drive for 10 or so miles with no symptoms..
