rpm drop at idle

RE: rpm drop at idle
Thanks for the info, Auditech79. I've also noticed that my coolant temp. guage is not always straight up (as others have stated is the norm). Could there be any correlation between my car's symptoms and the CTS?

RE: rpm drop at idle
Thanks for the reply, LampyB- Actually, I just picked up some seafoam last weekend and plan on doing it in the next month when it comes closer to oil change time. I'm planning on replacing the air filter and cleaning the MAF this weekend, if time allows- I had the spark plugs changed about 1000 miles ago, so hopefully I can rule that out...

RE: rpm drop at idle
I have read alot of good advice above. Dont overlook the vac compressor. It runs usualy when the car has been off for a while and cold as you indicated. It will drop down your rpm and volt gauge in a normal setting shortly after starting the car as it needs to work. If you have a weak electrical system it could bring your revs down low enough to make the engine run rough. Just another thing to look into along with all other advice.
