I just bought a 1995 audi 90 and the aftermarket radio won't turn on.I looked at the fuse for the radio under the hood and it was good.I took the radio out and test it and it powers up,any help is appreciated

 

Is the power supply going directly to the battery or is it connected to the old original wiring? a lot of aftermarket radio installations simply wire the radio directly into the harness or a fused power connection directly to the battery. It comes unplugged very easily if the the wire is poorly connected. I would just ditch the radio. and get a new one and then take it to the shop where you want to get the entire audio system done. DONT do the wiring yourself! one wrongly setup wire could start a fire and its definately not worth saving a few bucks. Its best to do the entire thing at one time than one piece at a time. trust me. been there, done that.

 

take new fuse bend each side a little, sometimes when radio is on for a long time they get hot and expand the fuse housing

 

it is powered to the harness thru a aftermarket harness hooked into the original harness.the guy I bought it from said it was working. he said he was working on something on the car and didn't unhook the negative cable and after that the radio didn't come on anymore
