Default Radio Cut Out

My radio only works... 1 out of 10 times.

My CD Player works fine, and when my radio decides to work it usually has a full strong clear signal, but occasionally it is a bit snowy.

Any ideas? Antenna fucked? Time for a new head unit?

I just purchased a 2000 A6 2.8 with a similar problem. AM just rotten reception and most FM channels are extremely snowy ... any advice ? Like mentioned before CD player works great.

I'm pretty sure you can buy the conductive paint or w/e at any major hardware store.

I suppose I could have done this scraping ice off my back window... ?
