Default P0300 Code???

Hello. I brought my '02 S4 to Autozone for the code. They told me that a P0300 is a random cylinder misfire. Can anyone tell me if this problem is something I can fix on my own rather than have the dealership do it. If this helps, the CEL came on a cold day. Thanks.[]

could be bad spark plugs or plug leads arcing, could also be a bad coil pack go with the cheapest fix first ( spark plugs ) no cash lose because its part of a service anyway

if there is another code in it like a p030X the X being the culprit cylinder this will direct you to the correct one. occasionally ive seen vw's and audis throw 300 codes for no reason. is your car driving normal and idling smothly? if so then dont worry about it.

Thanks for the responses. The CEL is off now! When the CEL was on there was no loss in power. Hopefully it was a one time thing.
