Default Need help!!! P0300 p0301 p0302 p0303 p0304

Hi all. I've been having a problem with my 2000 a4 1.8t quattro. From what i can tell its in limp mode right now. When i scanned it, it came back with p0300, p0301, p0302, p0303 and p0304. So i replaced tha spark plugs and ignition coils and still the problem continues. Right now the car is stuttering pretty bad and at the most will only stutter its way up to about 45-50 mph. I can't figure out what to do. Any suggestions???

Thanks and ur help will be greatly appreciated.

What heat range plug are you using?
I use NGK PFR6Q.
Remove the plugs and read them.

If your car is an early 00' with the AEB motor, you should have an ignition stage control unit (mounted at the air cleaner housing) a failed unit will cause a dead misfire on one or more ignition coils. If not so equiped, i would reccomend a compression test first- if you have low compression on any cyl then it's not possible to have compete combustion. If compression is ok, check for large intake air leakage. Usually this will be followed by some other codes related to adaptation range. A diagnostic smoke machine (common to any high quality repair facility) will show up any air leaks. If the system is tight, injectors could be a culprit but unlikely that all 4 would have a failure at one time. Also, a solid dead misfire throughout the rpm range is often ignition related. I'm leaning toward a stage control unit. If you are having a large volume of oil bypass being burned in the combustion chambers (ie- failing turbine sucking oil into the compressor housing), that can cause multiple misfires.

my car is a newer 2000 so tha ignition control unit isn't on t
op of tha intake box do u know if they eliminated it or just moved it n if so where to?

I'm going to check the compression in a bit but if tha copression was off it wouldn't start right?

I'd rather not take it to a shop is there any way i can check for vac leaks on my own?

The spark plug i got through audi so they're the right onces.

Remove the plugs. They should be tan.

If you would like to check to see if you have any vacuum leaks, try using an incense, you know, those stick like things that emit an odor

Light the incense (just one) and when it is burning well to create smoke, then place near any vacuum lines (the motor needs to be running). If you see the smoke being sucked into any hoses, then there is a vacuum leak there. Good luck.

You will want to search the intake for any intake air leaks. This will cause a misfire.
