Also, remove the three nuts that attach the bracket that "nut 1" snugs up against. There is a opening in the trunk next to the spare tire specifically for this purpose. (as I noted in my previous post, and look at the picture I posted even earlier showing the bracket attached to the pump. It is just below my finger in the photo) Work the bracket out and lift up on the pump to remove it.
