RE: Key will not arm system
I just found this site about the actuator. Do you think that this is helpful?

RE: Key will not arm system
I think i found my issue. I reread what you said
The second group in that entire value block should read all 0000 meaning all doors closed. The alarm wont arm if all the doors arent closed. Hood and trunk included.
My second group is 001. My doors i all checked and i got value changes. Trunk registers in its own separate column/section leading me to the hood. The car sees the hood as being open, which is why i guess it doesnt want to see the lock commands. Ideas?

RE: Key will not arm system
Hi, I am new to the forums and to Audis. I have several issues that I'm trying to work through, and I seem to have a similar problem with drivers door lock, did you ever resolve the issue? Or does anyone else have insight to this issue? Thanks

Thanks, I got your PM. It was very helpful. I do not have a vag-com nor know anyone in my area with one (NW Arkansas), but I'm fairly positive that I have narrowed it down to the door lock cylinder. My latch and pump seem to be fine. Do you (or anyone) have diagrams of the door lock cylinder? I have been searching for the last hour for info on it. It seems several people have been in my position, but I not many have recorded their victory over it. Thanks!
ps Strangely, it will work every great once and a while.

RE: Key will not arm system
I made a bit of headway, I found a thread on a VW site about MKIV's that share a similar problem. On this thread it explained that it is often caused by poor soldering in the door lock computer module. They said that often a good hit or two to the door around the area of the latch/keyhole can shake it up enough to restore the lost connections. The thread also had an explanation on how to repair the poor solders.
Here's what I actually know: I hit my door last night and now it is working. Also, I found a door lock computer module on Ebay- which must mean its a real part.
Here's what I don't know: Anything about the A4 door lock computer module. I really can't find anything about it.
Any insights are welcome.
