The tube on the pump we had was too small, so we cut the tip of one of the gear oil caps and then attatched it to the end of the tube. We then stuck it up against the drain and it fit perfectly. We then pumped the gear oil in from a reservoir and once it was all out, we both layed under the car and my friend quickly pulled out the tube while I stuck the plug back in. It worked pretty well.
Thats exactly how you fill the haldex rear differential unit on a tt. Of couse you could hang the car upside down but thats alot of work. Expecially considering youd have to do it every 20k miles. Plus youd have to top off all the other fluids as some of them would drain out when the car was upside down.
