HELP!- 4 blown head gaskets!
#11
Yes
The head has been replaced & I pick it up Monday. Audi is supposed to call me Tue to let me know if they are going to extend the warranty as I've requested. My 4 yrs are up the end of Oct. but I only have about 40K miles on the car.

Sounds like you are having bad luck with your audi, if it were me i would get rid of it just because its a 3.0L. Repairs on that engine will get expensive in the future, like really expensive! If you want to stick with the audi brand i would pick up a B7 with the 3.2L FSI motor, way more power and its much more reliable.

I'm in a real quandry about what to do with this. There are so many things we love about the A4 wagon but the dealer is over 100 mi. away. The BMW 3xi wagon is the only alternative vehicle w/ this level of sport & lux. There is a BMW dealer in our hometown. The BMWs have their own set of problems. If I had a magic wand, I'd get a B7 Avant 3.2 or 2.0 that is out of warranty but those are extremely rare. How have the 2L engines been holding up?

The 2.0T engines have only had some oil consumption problems and a high pressure fuel pump issue. All of which have factory repairs and aren't a problem.
The 2.0T internals are still very good and better than that of the 1.8T which has forged piston tops from mahle. You won't find any real problems with the 2.0T except from the common coolant leak from the coolant flange on the back of the cylinder head, which plauges the 1.8T as well, its just easier to change on a 2.0T thank god.
