Hard, jerky shifting in A4 2.0T

I've looked for answers but can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I have a 2007 A4 2.0T quattro with 139xxx miles on it. When I drive slowly or keeping the rpms low it doesn't have a problem shifting. But when I accelerate quickly it has trouble shifting up. It feels like it's trying to shift but it can't, resulting in a jerky motion. Again, there's no problem when I accelerate slowly, just when I accelerate quickly. I've just been dealing with it but I'd like to get it fixed. I've had people suggest its the transmission, the timing belt, or just the transmission fluid. I've even heard it has an adaptive motor and it's just learning how I drive... I don't know much about cars at all so any help would be appreciated.
